Starting from Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne,
the Col du Télégraph is our first obstacle,
at 11.8km in length and average gradient
of 7% an altitude of 1566m. We descend
in to the town of Valloire before starting
the climb of the Galibier.
The Galibier may not be as well known
to the non-cyclists as our other alpine
routes, but make no mistake this is
one hell of a challenge - in fact the
Galibier is often the highest point of
the Tour de France
